JEWELRY CARE
Although our jewelry is made to last, some pieces are more delicate than others and probably shouldn't be worn in chlorinated pools or during the performance of activities that are likely to damage your attire (rock climbing comes to mind). A few recommendations:
  •
Some of the softer gemstones (like fluorite and sugilite) will erode over time if overly exposed to running water (as rocks and minerals tend to do), so take your jewelry off before showering, swimming, or cleaning house.
  •
Other stones may chip or fracture if bumped. I don't wear bracelets while typing, for example, since I can't prevent the stones from hitting the desk or keyboard. The same pertains to our glass beads; while kiln-annealed for strength and durability, they are nonetheless subject to breakage should you hit or drop one.
  •
Store your jewelry separately in ziplock bags with a small square of anti-tarnish paper to minimize tarnish and avoid rubbing.
  •
Put your jewelry on after applying hairspray or makeup (not before).
Clean your jewelry occassionally with a gentle cleanser such as Quik Brite to remove everyday grime. Tarnish can be removed from sterling silver by polishing with Sunshine Polishing cloths or by tumbling.

Our bangles are made with flexibility in mind so that you can mold them to your liking. Put them on over the smallest part of your wrist to preserve their shape over time.
